An incident of the A5 near the village of Catthorpe in Leicestershire has closed the carriageway in both directions, between the junctions of the A428 (near Crick) and the A426 (near Churchover).

A signed diversion is available for
northbound traffic which should exit the A5 at the junction with the
A428 follow the solid diamond symbol on local road signs taking the A428
to join the M1 at J18. Then use the M1 northbound to J19 to join the M6
northbound. Exit the M6 at J1 and join the A426 towards Lutterworth to
re-join the A5.

Southbound traffic should exit the A5 at the A426
junction and follow the solid triangle symbol using the A426 southbound
to join the M6 southbound at J1. Follow the M6 southbound to join the
M1 southbound and then exit at J18, using the A428 to re-join the A5
southbound.

Road users are advised to expect delays in this area and to allow plenty of extra time for their journey.
